Make your own Biodiesel with waste vegetable oil

Due to increasing price of fuel in world market, we have nothing to do to stop it. But we can do something alternative, this is called "biodiesel" this renewable fuel which may be used as an alternative to diesel fuel without any modification of the engine. But the question is, is this legal? Certainly yes, except in the country like Saudi and Philippines, because this affect the fuel business in the country so the government cannot fully legalize it at the moment. But this is fully legal if you use it own your own. So lets start!
Materials needed:
-isoprophyl alcohol 70-100% solution

-methyl alcohol (methanol)
-lye/lye solution (naOH)

-turmeric solution

-1 liter waste vegetable oil (WVO)
-4 syringe (with labels of oil, lye solution, turmeric, isop. alcohol with 10ml/cc)
-weighing scale ( grams)
-thermometer

-small jar or container

-beaker (250ml or higher)

-blender (take note if you use it in biodiesel do not use it again into food or drink)

Making tester solutions
In making lye solution, prepare 1 liter of distilled water, put 1 gram of lye and dissolve it.(this can be poisonous if they drink so keep out reach of children)

In making of turmeric solution, place 10ml of isoprophyl alcohol in small jar, mix it with 1 tbsp of turmeric and allow it immerse.

So everything is ready, lets do the first part.

First thing to do "titration"

What is titration? In this method you will know the ph balance of
WVO you will use and know how many lye(naOH) will be needed.

  1. Put 10ml of isoprophyl alcohol in a small jar, now get your turmeric solution and syringe with pin and gather few amount of turmeric solution now put it drop by drop in a small jar with alcohol while swirling and it should be turn to yellow.
  2. Gather few amounts of lye solution put it drop by drop into the jar while swirling it should be turn to red.
  3. Get your WVO and gather 1ml of oil put it all into the jar and swirl it until it turns to yellow (the oil should be luke warm to change to yellow perfectly)
  4. Gather 5ml of lye solution, put it drop by drop into the jar while swirling, it should be turn to pink(like pomelo color) dont stop until it change to pink.
  5. Check your syringe you use in lye solution, count how many point or ml you use in step number 4, the result will be use in nest step.
  6. Prepare your weighing scale and lye (dry), weigh 5 grams plus titration results and put it into beaker, add 200ml of methanol and mix it until the lye powder dissolve.(don't inhale the fume)
Calculations

1 liter of oil x 5grams +titration(?)=5.? of lye Amount of Methanol=200ml

Large batch
80 liters of oil X 5grams + titration=400.? of lye AOM=enough to dissolve the lye

7.Prepare your blender and 1 liter of oil, heat the oil, use your thermometer to measure it up to 45°C
8.Place it into the blender, mix it with your lye and methanol mixture. Blend it up to 30mins. After that pour it into empty jar or bottle. Wait up to 24hrs.(this will allow the biodiesel (top) and glycerol (below) to separate)

9.Separate the biodiesel (light color) in another bottle or container with cap, keep the glycerol for other purpose, and there you have it!

But wait! Do you want to improve the color and quality of your biodiesel? Then you need to wash it, washing is simple. Just add 100ml of water and shake it. (shake it gently, give it 2 shakes side by side). Allow the biodiesel and water to separate, (remember that water is heavier than oil) so the water will go down, then drain the water. Do this repeatedly until the water is clear. Mostly 3 times washing will work best.
Next is drying, this will allow to dry the water particles in biodiesel that cannot be separate by draining. Leave it to the sun within 2-3days. You will notice the clear color of your biodiesel. If you are in hurry, just heat it in the pot up to 60°c to dry water particles in it.

That's it, you've make biodiesel!
Congratulations! You have now successfully completed your first biodiesel fuel ever. Boost your engine with this extraordinary fuel and feel the difference!

Make your own Shampoo

1.Prepare the raw materials, weighing scale and utensils you will use.
Label the raw materials accordingly

Raw materials needed:
  • 5 grams Industrial salt
  • 4 grams Fragrance
  • 13 grams SHQ-60 as Moisturizer
  • 1 gram TDTA as Chelating agent
  • 8 grams PK771 as Pearlizer
  • 40 grams CDA as Foam booster
  • 1 gram M-50 as Preservative
  • 5 grams PQ-7 as Conditioner
  • 4 grams Stabilizer
  • 1 gram FD&C dye as Colorant
  • 793 grams De-ionized water
  • 130 grams Surfactant
(this following materials can make 1 liter of shampoo)

Prepare free from dirt plastic containers, plastic basins, small beaker and weighing scale. Then measure all the dry and liquid raw materials. You must first dissolve the surfactant in 700g of de-ionized water using a plastic container or basins and ladle. Stir the water uninterruptedly in one direction for about 20-30 minutes until all the surfactant is dissolved. Make sure that there is no remaining left in the container. Set aside.
Put de-ionized water in two seperate plastic containers, the first to dissolve the chelating agent and other to dissolve the industrial salt. Stir until its fade away then set aside.
Get the dissolved surfactant soluion and add the other raw materials in the specified order. Make sure that each chemical is completely dissolved before adding the next one. First add the foam booster. Stir until dissolve and the preservative.

2. Weigh all dry and liquid ingredients exactly . Then dissolve the surfactant in 700 grams of de-ionized water. Stir in one direction for 20-30 minutes ntil the surfactant is entirely dissolved. Set aside.

3. Dissolve the industrial salt and chelating agent in two seperate plastic bowls with de-ionized water. Stir and then aside. Get the dissolved surfactant and add the other raw materials in the specified order: foam booster, chelating agent, preservative, moisturizer, pearlizer, conditioner. Make sre to get going the mixture to dissolve the raw ingredient before adding a new one.

4. The fragrance, colorant and the industrial salt solution should be last to put with.

Thats it, you've make a shampoo!
Congratulations! You have now successfully completed your first shampoo making.
You can now start shampoo business.
